Ooh boy I'm really excited about this one. The IndependentArtMarket was one of
my favorite art events last year. This year it will be in a new space, downtown,
which sounds even cooler! Here are some details. Please join me!
WHAT
An art sale! Work will be available for sale right on the spot, in a wide variety of
prices. I had such a good time finding gifts (er, and a few things for myself) here
last year! Cash and checks (with ID) accepted. The IndependentArtMarket web site
says it better than I can: "The IndependentArtMarket winter sale is an annual event
that combines all the warmth of a luxury boutique, all the sophistication of a
premium gallery, and the comfort of a friend's home into a single fantastic
weekend."
WHEN
Friday, December 7, 6:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. Reception Friday evening, details below.
Saturday, December 8, Noon - 10:00 p.m.
Sunday, December 9, Noon - 6:00 p.m.
Friday Reception: There will be food and drink inside (I recommend bringing cash
for this. If there's not a charge, surely donations or tips will be cheerfully
accepted.) Outside there will be the Fire and Ice Cream Truck, which is "a souped-
up, hot-rod, ice cream firetruck". That's all I know about that truck, but I hear
they serve Serendipity ice cream, so that's all I need to know (there will be a charge
for ice cream). I can't think of anything that sounds cooler than that. Oh yeah,
there will also be live music, and maybe some fire spinners!

The corner of 10th and Locust in LoftWorks' "Lofts at 315" building, downtown St.
Louis. Word on the street (from my parents, who are from the streetz) is that
downtown is looking great this time of year, with festive window displays nearby at
Macy's. Make a day or an evening of it!

IndependentArtMarket is a St. Louis-based artists cooperative that creates events to
showcase the works of top local and international independent artists, artisans and
designers. The artists organizing this terrific event are excited about a spectacular
weekend filled with a wonderful lineup of new and returning artists, artisans and
designers selling work of the highest quality just in time for the holidays.
Participating artists work in traditional and non-traditional media with an emphasis
on quality. Each studio is self-represented. This December promises the biggest and
best IndependentArtMarket holiday sale ever.
